Railroad Ink Drag Night — coming to Bellevue's Mox Boarding House this Saturday, Jan. 11 —will feature various train-themed board games while highlighting the Eastside's vibrant drag performers. The fundraiser will support the work of the nonprofit Pride Across the Bridge (PAB) and the three local artists who plan to dazzle during the evening.
"Come play the night away with the most fun-loving community around! Specialty cocktails and appetizers will be on offer from Mox's fabulous restaurant!" says a PAB Facebook post.
A partnership between PAB, the GSBA, and Sound Transit's East Link Light Rail, the event will have a tournament room where attendees can play games like Railroad Ink, a puzzle that builds networks of rails and roads through a watery landscape, with a roll of the dice determining available routes.
In Ticket to Ride, another multiplayer game, people work to build the longest railroads across the continent for the most points. Another transportation game is Great Western Trail, in which players travel back to the life of an 1800s rancher who must navigate dangers while herding cattle to Kansas City.
Kenbie Enby, aka Mx. Kenbie, a genderfluid drag artist and a lip sync performer, is cohosting the tournament with Adrena Lynn Rush, who refers to herself as "The Queen of Plastic," and performer and hostess Stella Stration, both graduates of PAB's Eastside DIY Drag workshops.
PAB's mission is to create a strong and inclusive 2SLGBTQIA+ community on the Eastside of King County "compassionate education, support, and safe spaces ... for queer individuals through ...unique events," including the workshops.
There remains a gap between the LGBTQ+ resources available in Seattle and the Eastside. All proceeds from tickets, which range from $10 to $30, will go directly to PAB, while all cash tips will go to the performing artists, who are volunteering their time.
Railroad Ink Drag Night runs 7-11 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 13310 Bel-Red Road.
