'A Night to Awaken' - 4th annual LUSIO festival to light up 40 acres of Volunteer Park Saturday night, August 3

On Saturday night, August 3, LUSIO returns to Volunteer Park with an expanded festival of light creating one of the largest light festivals in the Pacific Northwest. The free family friendly festival runs for 3 hours from dusk to 11pm. Main entrances to Volunteer Park are at 14th Ave E & E Prospect St and 15th Ave E & E Galer St.

Walk the park after dark and explore the art of light! 41 exhibits of light are curated directly into the nature of the park including a large-scale projection mapping of the Asian Art Museum and a special video and light art showcase on the iconic water tower by PNTA (Pacific Northwest Theatre Associates). Many exhibits are interactive or totally immersive and all are family friendly!

This free festival of light and sounds brings thousands of people into the park for three very special hours creating a magical journey unlike any other!

Experience live ambient sound performances accompanied with live video art exhibits by Modular Seattle and Monster Planet. DJ's will be closing out the evening with another fun dance party at the amphitheater!

This free festival is for the community and by the community. The entire festival is volunteer run and some of the production costs were raised with successful fundraising campaign. The LUSIO festival gives an opportunity for the light artists of the PNW to showcase their art in an accessible setting and gives the public a chance to play in the art of light.

The Volunteer Park Conservatory is also hosting a 21+ fundraiser called 'Lusio Dance Garden' from 7pm-10pm to help raise funds for their non-profit.

DJ, drinks and dancing will accompany an architectural lighting display by PNTA. This is a ticketed event but the rest of the park is free!
