Leslie Jordan's show 'Exposed' raises $5,000 for the AMP

LESLIE JORDAN
'EXPOSED'
THE TRIPLE DOOR
April 22

Monday, April 22, was an outstanding night for the AIDS Memorial Pathway project (the AMP) when Seattle Gay News and Unite Seattle Magazine joined with BECU to present comedian Leslie Jordan in his autobiographical one-man show 'Exposed' at The Triple Door raising $5,000 for the AMP.

Special thanks to pre-show hosts and performers DJ Vinnie, Aleksa Manila, Arnaldo! Drag Chanteuse as well as to The Triple Door, Amy's Limo, W Seattle hotel, Seattle Event Printing and Lifelong AIDS Alliance for flyer and poster printing, and many other individuals and organizations who helped publicize and promote the event to attract a nearly sold-out crowd to the show.

The evening began with DJ Disco Vinnie on stage spinning music and screening videos from ABBA to Michael Jackson from 6pm to 7:30pm.

Backstage during the Meet and Greet, Leslie Jordan was all smiles and gracious to everyone.

At 7:30pm Aleksa Manila and Arnaldo! Drag Chanteuse set the tone for the evening with warm welcoming remarks along with brilliant comedy and song. Both Jason Plourde of the AMP and Stephen Black from BECU spoke about the importance of community and the AIDS Memorial Pathway project being developed at the north end of Cal Anderson Park adjacent to the Capitol Hill Link Lightrail Station.

At 8pm Emmy Award-winning actor and comedian Leslie Jordan brought his raunchy humor to the stage with his autobiographical one-man show 'Exposed' and the exuberant audience showed their appreciation with unending cheering, clapping and laughter.

The evening was a triumphant success and the event raised $5,000 for The AMP: the AIDS Memorial Pathway general fund.
