Rally against far-right violence at UW Feb. 23

Rally to counter Joey Gibson and Patriot Prayer and 'their message of misogyny and racism' Saturday, February 23rd, 4:30pm at the University of Washington. Gather at the northeast end of the Quad. The rally is co-sponsored by a coalition of students and alumni, ANSWER Coalition, Freedom Socialist Party, International Socialist Organization, Organized Workers for Labor Solidarity, Party for Socialism and Liberation, Radical Women.

The coalition states: 'Gibson and his followers use these opportunities to spread misogynist and xenophobic messages. Bullies, bigots and neo-Nazis regularly convene at his events, including NW Proud Boys, Cascade Legion, Identity Evropa, PDX Stormers and Atomwaffen Division. These groups range from 'Western Chauvinists' to avowed White Supremacists.'

Organizers invite all who oppose misogyny, white supremacy and far-right violence to attend. They assert that: 'as a diverse community of students, workers, and residents, we understand that solidarity is our greatest strength. In solidarity we will build a powerful, democratic working-class movement that defends the rights of all to live peacefully and without fear. Join us!'

Attendees are welcome to bring a non-perishable food donation for food drive in support of the University District Food Bank. For more information, call 206-722-2453 or email seattle@pslweb.org.
