League of Women Voters presents 'Ballots & Baristas,' a community conversation about this fall's ballot initiatives

In partnership with Cupcake Royale and several local coffee shops, League of Women Voters of Seattle-King County is hosting 'Ballots & Baristas,' a series of community conversations about ballot issues to simultaneously take place at 11 locations throughout King County.

Volunteers from League of Women Voters will be available at the coffee shops to facilitate a neighborly discussion of the initiatives appearing on King County voters' ballots, including gun regulations, a pollution fee, changes to police training and use of force, and a ban on taxing groceries. Sample ballots will be available for participants. These events are free and open to the public.

The events will take place on Tuesday, October 23 at Cupcake Royale's five Seattle locations (with free babycakes while they last) from 6pm to 8pm - Ballard @ 2052 NW Market St; Capitol Hill @ 1111 E Pike St; Downtown @ 108 Pine St; Queen Anne @ 1935 Queen Anne Ave N; West Seattle @ 4556 California Ave SW.

And also on Tuesday, October 23 at the following King County area coffee shops: Bellden Café @ 10527 Main St, Bellevue (5pm to 7pm); Diva Espresso @ 6728 NE 181st St, Kenmore (6pm to 8pm); Everest Tea & Coffee House @ 200 SW 43rd St, Renton (6pm to 8pm); New Seasons Market @ 2755 77th Ave SE, Mercer Island (5pm to 7pm); SoulFood Coffee House @ 15748 Redmond Way, Redmond (4pm to 6pm); Starbucks - Issaquah Highlands, Grand Ridge Plaza @ 903 NE Park Dr, Issaquah (5pm to 7pm).
