Roy Moore still a pathetic loser |

Notorious anti-LGBT bigot and neo-Confederate Roy Moore failed to invalidate the December 12 special election in which he was beaten by Democratic candidate Doug Jones for a US Senate seat from Alabama. Jones will be sworn in on January 3.
In a vain attempt to halt official certification of the election results, in which he trailed Jones by some 21,000 votes, Moore filed suit on December 27, alleging massive voter fraud. He then asked Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill to delay certifying the election until his suit had been adjudicated.
Moore's lawyer said the purpose of the complaint was to 'preserve evidence of potential election fraud and to postpone the certification of Alabama's Special Election by Secretary of State John Merrill until a thorough investigation of potential election fraud that improperly altered the outcome of this election.'
Merrill, however, said that he had no intention of delaying certification of the results.
'It is not going to delay certification, and Doug Jones will be certified [on December 28] at 1pm, and he will be sworn in by Vice-President Pence on 3 January,' Merrill told the Associated Press.
Merrill said he would meet with Alabama Governor Kay Ivey and State Attorney General Steve Marshall to officially certify the results and confirm that Jones will be sworn in as the state's next senator when Congress returns from recess in January.
Although he was clearly behind on election night, Moore refused to concede to Jones, at first holding out hopes of a recount, then concocting a story about massive voter fraud.
Moore's lawsuit gives few details of the alleged fraud but claims it is proven 'with a reasonable degree of statistical and mathematical certainty' by statistical analysis of voter turnout.
According to CNN, one of the 'experts' used by Moore to support his claims of fraud is Richard Charnin, a conspiracy theorist who claims that he has 'mathematically proved' there was a vast conspiracy to assassinate the late President John F. Kennedy.
CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins noted that Charnin published a 2014 book called Reclaiming Science: the JFK Conspiracy, which was described as 'a mathematical analysis of unnatural deaths, witness testimony, altered evidence, and media disinformation' about Kennedy's assassination in 1963.
Charnin has also pushed conspiracy theories about Seth Rich, a DNC staffer murdered in July 2016. 'Applied mathematics indicates a virtual 100% probability of a cover-up,' he wrote at the time.
