Dolly Parton, Gwen Stefani and Meghan Trainor announce Seattle concerts

Hellooooo, Dolly! Country music icon Dolly Parton has included Seattle - well, Kent - on her upcoming 'Pure & Simple Tour.' The legendary singer-songwriter will perform such classic hits as 'Jolene,' '9 to 5,' 'I Will Always Love You,' 'Little Sparrow' and 'Coat of Many Colors' at the ShoWare Center on September 21. Tickets are on sale now at showarecenter.com/events. Parton will also perform the following night, September 22, in Spokane at the Northern Quest Casino, for anyone wishing to hop a quick flight across the state to see her there. Anyone wishing to attend the Kent show without a car, know that the ShoWare Center is accessible by Sound Transit and Metro, either by Sounder train or bus.

'The Voice' coach and No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani is headed to the Emerald City as well, set to perform at Key Arena with special guest Eve on August 24 as part of her 'This Is What The Truth Feels Like Tour.' The three-time Grammy winner's much anticipated road outing kicks off July 12 in Boston with planned stops in 27 cities, including Tampa, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Dallas and Las Vegas. 'What Are You Waiting For?' 'Hollaback Girl,' 'Rich Girl,' 'Sweet Escape,' 'Cool' and 'Let Me Blow Ya Mind' (with Eve) are among the songs likely to be on Stefani's set list. Tickets for the concert are on sale now at LiveNation.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, or charge by phone 1-800-745-3000.

Also, coming this way is newly crowned Best New Artist Grammy winner Meghan Trainor, scheduled to appear July 16 at WaMu Theater. The Seattle show is the second date on her tour, featuring special guest Hailee Steinfeld, the Oscar nominated actress from True Grit who launched a music career last year. Trainor officially announced 'The Untouchable Tour' on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show,' which will land in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Atlanta, New York City and Orlando, to name a few cities. Tickets for the concert are on sale now at LiveNation.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, or charge by phone 1-800-745-3000.

The Bumbershoot lineup is top notch once again, featuring Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Death Cab for Cutie, Tame Impala, Run The Jewels, Billy Idol, DJ Snake, Porter Robinson, Fetty Wap, G-Easy, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Tyler the Creator, Melanie Martinez, Zeds Dead and Halsey, plus dozens of others musicians, visual artists, comedians and authors. The annual music and arts festival will take place, as usual, over Labor Day weekend (September 2-4) at Seattle Center. Tickets and single/multiple day passes are available now at bumbershoot.com.

Finally, look for a review of the James Bay concert at The Showbox SoDo in next week's issue. The three-time Grammy nominee played to a full house on April 28.
