Out in Front leadership development program
Dear Editor:
Out In Front, the premier leadership development program in Seattle for the LGBTQ community is currently accepting applications for the 2015-16 cohort. Sessions begin in September 2015 and carry through to June 2016. The application deadline is July 15, 2015.
Out In Front is committed to building our community through the development of effective, engaged and passionate leaders in the LGBTQ community. Our work can be best understood through the voices of our alumni:

'Out in Front is a remarkable program&I am more aware of issues facing the LGBTQA community and increasingly prepared to take a leading role in addressing these needs.' -Hannah, Class of 2014.

Core sessions in this groundbreaking program include the Leadership Retreat, Business Savvy, Organizing, Public Speaking, LGBTQ Diversity Retreat, Legislative Advocacy, Media, Finding Your Place and Sustainable Action.

We invite you to explore our website at www.outinfrontseattle.org to find out more about the program, submit an application or encourage a friend or colleague to apply.

Thank you,

To the Editor:

Now that the United States Supreme Court has declared a constitutional right to same-sex marriage, it's time for President Obama to take a page out of the playbooks of Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy and throw down the gauntlet to the state of Alabama and their Supreme Court. The President should immediately nationalize the Alabama Guard, order the U.S. Marshal's office to be on standby, park U.S. Navy ships directly off the coast of Alabama, and tell the Supreme Court of Alabama they will comply with the orders of the Supreme Court and Federal District Courts, or face federal force, by any means necessary, to make them and their political subdivisions submit and comply.

600,000 Americans died 150 years ago over state nullification of federal law. Alabama's past assertion of nullification constitutes sedition, under color of law.

Sincerely,
Steven L. Kendall
