Donald J. Abshire - IN MEMORIAM

Donnie, aka Donald J. Abshire, left earth April 17, 2015 for the Great Beyond. A Loving Friend and Partner, he'll be missed by all that knew him. He was the kind of person who spoke his truth, never with malice, but from his heart. Truth was one of his greatest strengths and much admired, even when the truth might hurt. The last 32 years of his life were physically and spiritually challenging, sometimes referring to himself as a PSP (Professionally Sick Person). Yet he inspired so many. Some thought this tough Old Bird was never gonna die.

He drew strength from the God of his understanding and the love of his friends. His true commercial talent was interior design, attested to by all the hair left on the showroom floors. He knew what he wanted and by God that's what he got 99% of the time. If not, he'd be back at the opening of business the next day! I had the gift of being his Partner for 21 years. We took 4 years off to work on our Programs. Thanks to God's Grace it was time well spent!!! We deepened our commitment and learned the TRANSFORMATIVE Power of Loving and Giving Back.... So Long For Now, Youngster. - JC
