Seattle's Unexpected Productions presents The Black Lodge: An Improvised Twin Peaks Episode

Unexpected Productions has been known for their artistic and hilarious take on improv. Starting January 16 they will be offering their take on television's favorite cult show, 'Twin Peaks.' The Black Lodge: An Improvised Twin Peaks Episode explores the surreal and hilarious secrets of some familiar faces (and maybe some unfamiliar ones) of the Northwest's weirdest fictional village, Twin Peaks.

From audience suggestions, Twin Peaks' colorful residents will live out their lives in an original, unscripted chapter of the town's epic struggle of good vs. evil. Join them for the mystery, cherry pie, damn good coffee and laughter. You never know what you'll find in the quaint, quirky lumber town.

The Black Lodge: An Improvised Twin Peaks Episode is directed by Unexpected Productions' company member, Elizabeth Brammer. Brammer has studied sketch and improv at The Groundlings in Los Angeles, Second City in Chicago, and ColdTowne Theater, and was previously a member of Austin's ColdTowne Theater's MainStage sketch group.

'It has been an exciting process watching the show evolve through rehearsals. We are honoring the original show, as it is such a cultural phenomenon. But, it is an improv based on audience suggestions, and secrets, so it will be different every night, while staying true to the style.' explained Brammer.

'Every member of the cast is a fan and has acutely studied the 'Twin Peaks' show and movie. So they bring so much to their performances. They are real and hilarious,' she added.

Black Lodge has been in rehearsal for several months and features improvisers from throughout the Puget Sound area, including from Unexpected Productions, Jet City Improv and Comedysportz. The cast includes: Phill Arensberg, Tony Beeman, Jimmy Blackmon, Dave Clapper, Randy Dixon, Audra Goffeney, Jana Hutchison, Jessica Robins, Laurel Ryan, Sarah Scheller and Greg Stackhouse.

The Black Lodge: An Improvised Twin Peaks Episode will be performed Fridays and Saturdays, January 16 - March 7, at 8:30 p.m., at Unexpected Productions' Market Theater, 1428 Post Alley in Pike Place Market at the Gum Wall. Tickets are $15 general and $12 student/military/senior and can be purchased in advance at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-black-lodge-an-improvised-twin-peaks-episode-tickets-14383899631Web

This production contains adult language and situations. Also, please be aware that live gunshots and a strobe light are used in this production. Check out a video at http://youtu.be/fsIZeTJ5I_w

Unexpected Productions is known for performing improvisational genres at a level of excellence that make it hard to believe these stylized shows are unscripted. They have been leading the way in a new format that has taken the nation by storm, named GenrePROV.

Unexpected Productions is especially known for their weekly show Theatresports, Seattle's longest running show, which has been performing ever Friday and Saturday night for 32 years now. But, they also offer several other original shows a week from their home at the Market Theater.

Their complete slate of current shows is: Wednesday - Duo Comedy Showcase at 10 p.m.; Thursday - Blank Slate with Improv Anonymous at 8:30 p.m.; Friday/Saturday - Improv Happy Hour at 7:00 p.m.; Friday/Saturday - The Black Lodge: An Improvised Twin Peaks Episode at 8:30 p.m.; Friday/Saturday - Seattle Theatresports at 10:30 p.m.
