Alicia Keys launches tour March 7 in Seattle
by Albert Rodriguez - SGN A&E Writer

Since debuting strongly with 'Fallin',' the leadoff single from 2001's Songs in A Minor, this girl has undeniably been on fire. Alicia Keys has racked up 14 Grammy Awards, sold more than 35 million albums worldwide and an additional 30 million singles, made numerous high-profile appearances (Super Bowl, MTV VMAs, Oprah), and performed alongside some of the industry's tallest giants, like Bono, Stevie Wonder, and Jack White.

Keys has also been a visible and vocal advocate for AIDS awareness, raising millions of dollars for the cause and co-founding the charity Keep a Child Alive. She's one of R&B and pop music's purest vocalists, not to mention a skilled pianist and respected songwriter. She is sensational and has long been embraced by Gay fans, and it would seem the love is gladly returned - Keys stated she was 'proud' when Gay marriage became legal in her home state of New York, declaring, 'I'm a fan of the fact that we passed that.'

Her 'Set the World on Fire Tour' opens here in Seattle, a five-month outing with stops throughout North America, Europe, and Israel. In London, she added a second date after tickets for the first concert were quickly gobbled up. Ditto for Paris. Here in the Emerald City, the launch date is set for this Thursday, March 7, at WaMu Theater. Opening the show will be recent Grammy winner Miguel, who scored one of 2012's top hits, 'Adorn.' For tickets, go to www.ticketmaster.com.

The set list will very likely include 'Fallin',' 'No One,' 'Superwoman,' 'If I Ain't Got You,' 'Empire State of Mind,' and her newest smash, 'Girl on Fire.' Look for a review of Keys' performance in next week's issue.
