NATE GOWDY AROUND TOWN
Celebrated SGN photographer Nate Gowdy is displaying and selling his photographs around town at four locations this summer! His work can be seen at Poco Wine Room (1408 E. Pine St.) thru mid-July, at Adobe's Fremont Campus (801 N. 34th St., near the Fremont Bridge) thru July, The Grill on Broadway (314 Broadway E.) thru August, and Frame Central (901 E. Pike St.) in the storefront window during June and the upstairs gallery in August. His work "Elderly Drag Queen" was recently selected to be published in the leading juried photography annual in North America. MARS VERSUS MAPLE SCHOOL
The Seattle Gay & Lesbian Book Club meets every Wednesday, from 6-7:15 p.m., at Seattle Area Support Groups Community Center (303 17th Ave. E. at E. Thomas St.).
July selection is Mars Versus Maple School, by Nick DiMartino, SGL Book Club facilitator. The advance printing of his new autobiographical novel about a pudgy eleven-year-old bookworm who doesn't know what the word "homosexual" means as he grows up in Seattle, 1957, will be available for $9.00 exclusively at the University Book Store. MOTORCYCLE CLUB
SUMMER CAMPING
The Border Riders Motorcycle Club is the largest and one of the oldest Gay motorcycle clubs in North America. Founded in 1969, BRMC currently has over 70 members primarily from Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. The club provides social and educational opportunities for our members and guests interested in recreational motorcycle touring. Our diverse, international membership is composed of both seasoned riders and beginners, and we come from all walks of life and professions.
Border Riders hosts a short monthly Meet and Greet gathering on the Wednesday before the third weekend of each month at 7 p.m., at The Cuff Complex (1533 13th Ave.). The next Meet and Greet will be held on Wednesday, July 18.
From May through October, BRMC hosts monthly weekend camping trips - May 18-21, June 15-17, July 20-22, August 24-26, September 21-23, and October 19-21.
