Gratitude - and a correction

Thanks for the article 'City of Seattle files brief against DOMA' (July 13, front page). Unfortunately my name was misreported as 'Ken Vincent.' I am Chris Vincent. (There is a Ken Vincent, a former resident of Seattle and well-known radio announcer, who has long been an activist for social justice and LGBT rights.)

The article reported the City of Seattle filing an amicus brief with the Ninth Circuit Court challenging the federal Defense of Marriage Act in Golinski v. OPM. This news is of timely importance as we gain momentum to repeal DOMA at the federal level and to Approve Referendum 74 in November, which will grant marriage equality in Washington State. My husband and I were pleased and proud to be invited by Mayor Mike McGinn to speak about our own

situation at the July 10 news conference. Gay couples need to be able to marry in all 50 states and to have our marriages recognized by the federal government.

Sincerely,
Chris Vincent (and Ken Molsberry)
