Breaking Bad star makes pro-marriage video

by Albert Rodriguez - SGN A&E Writer

Not only does Bryan Cranston play TV's coolest badass, turning a spiritless high school teacher into an unremorseful villain on Breaking Bad, but now he's also displaying some coolness off-screen.

The three-time Emmy champ, a shoo-in for another Outstanding Lead Actor (Drama) nomination this week, created a video clip with his wife Robin Dearden and their daughter Taylor in support of same-sex marriage. The video is part of HRC's Americans for Marriage Equality promotional campaign that allows celebrities to voice their stand on the issue.

In the clip, Cranston states, Gay and Lesbian couples should have every right to experience the joys of marriage and family that we do. His daughter closes it out with, It's about love, plain and simple.

HRC's video campaign has also featured Academy Award winner Mo'Nique, Kristen Bell, Jason Mraz, Stanley Tucci, Cybill Shepherd, and another Emmy hopeful, Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation). You can view the Cranston family's video at www.hrc.org or www.youtube.com (search Bryan Cranston Gay marriage).

Breaking Bad begins its fifth season on AMC this Sunday evening. Nominations for the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on July 19.
