Adam Lambert readies sophomore album for May release

by Albert Rodriguez - SGN A&E Writer

Trespassing is the title of Adam Lambert's second album, the follow-up to his double-platinum debut For Your Entertainment. The new record, executively produced by the American Idol alum, is set for a May 15 release date. Pharrell Williams, Bruno Mars, and Sam Sparro are a few of the collaborators Lambert chose for his sophomore project, which he describes by saying, 'All these songs honestly explore the ups and downs of my reality.' Four tracks from the forthcoming CD - 'Trespassing,' 'Never Close Our Eyes,' 'Naked Love,' 'Cuckoo' - are previewed with 90-second snippets at soundcloud.com/adamofficial. Aside from his solo work, Lambert has landed the dream opportunity to sing with the members of legendary band Queen. The two artists will perform for the third time together July 7 at the UK's Sonisphere Festival. You can pre-order Trespassing at Lambert's official website, adamofficial.com, or at amazon.com.

Katy Perry just put out a new release - sort of. Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection is a sweetened reissue of her mega-selling album that produced a record-breaking six No. 1 singles. The repackaged edition includes all 12 tracks from the original CD, plus three new songs including 'Part of Me,' which she performed on the Grammy Awards telecast, and alternate versions of 'E.T.' (with Kanye West), 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)' (with Missy Elliott), 'The One That Got Away,' and a seven-minute Tommy Sunshine remix featuring each of the chart-topping hits. Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection is in stores now.

Two explosive singers will grace the stage at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley in the coming weeks. Soul artist Lalah Hathaway will perform four nights, April 19-22, at the intimate music venue, immediately followed by blues mama Bettye LaVette on April 24-25. Neither should be missed, especially LaVette who'll set that room on fire. Other new shows to announce are Fleetwood Mac frontman Lindsey Buckingham, performing solo May 19 at The Neptune, Aerosmith with special guest Cheap Trick at the Tacoma Dome on August 8, and our favorite '80s party band, The B-52s, at Marymoor Park on June 21.

Jason Mraz, a three-time interviewee with Seattle Gay News, lent his voice to the Human Rights Campaign's Marriage Equality movement by appearing in a video to support same-sex matrimony. The two-time Grammy winner is a longtime advocate of Gay rights and says in the video that he 'won't give up' until there's 'equality for all.' Mraz releases a new album, Love Is a Four-Letter Word, on April 17 that contains the leadoff single 'I Won't Give Up.'

Finally, from the Madonna frontline: Dates for the South American leg of her 'MDNA Tour' are being announced soon with expected stops in Brazil and Argentina, two of Madge's favorite places to perform, and possibly her first-ever appearance in Colombia.
