posted Friday, August 19, 2011 - Volume 39 Issue 33 Third annual Gay and Lesbian Wedding Expo hits Seattleby Shaun Knittel - SGN Associate Editor RainbowWeddingNetwork.com, along with host sponsor the Crowne Plaza Hotel, are set to produce the latest 'Same Love, Same Rights' Gay and Lesbian Wedding Expo in downtown Seattle on August 21. With recent expos in Washington, D.C., Chicago, and New York attracting hundreds of attendees, the event producers from RainbowWeddingNetwork say they are excited about the Seattle event. Expo officials say a diversity of Gay-friendly businesses will participate, including event coordinators, ceremony and reception venues, cake decorators, musical entertainment, photographers, formal wear, florists, travel planners, legal resources, and real estate professionals. Music, samples, giveaways, and an interactive presentation will add to the festivities. Couples and advocates from Seattle and the surrounding areas are invited to attend. 'Washington state has been a pioneer in offering domestic partnership benefits to its LGBT citizens, but there is much work yet to be done,' says Rainbow WeddingNetwork co-founder Cindy Sproul. 'The recent legislation in New York has thrilled so many couples and advocates throughout the nation - it is an ideal time for our community to continue to build on these milestones, from state to state.' RainbowWeddingNetwork's upcoming 'Same Love, Same Rights' Wedding Expo is a timely resource for Gay and Lesbian couples planning their commitment ceremonies, say officials. The event is also meant to serve as a rallying point for couples, singles, and straight allies to join together in promoting a vision of broader-based marriage rights in the state and throughout America.
