The second annual Pride Community Worship Service will be held on Saturday, June 25, at 1 p.m. at All Pilgrims Christian Church (500 Broadway E.). The Rev. Ray Neal will be the featured speaker for the event.

The guest musician for the service will be Christina Brewer. A finalist in the 2011 Pride Idol competition, Brewer will sing 'I Am Not Ashamed' and 'Testify to Love.' Brewer is the former Miss Teen Washington, Miss Washington for the Miss Worldwide Pageant, and American Idol season six contestant. She is also a past recipient of GSBA scholarship awards.

Additionally, a community choir will perform 'Seasons of Love' from the musical Rent. Those who wish to participate in the choir are asked to rehearse at 11 a.m. at the church. The choir and worship music will be under the direction of Dr. Gary Ballou, a long-time member of the Seattle Gay Men's Chorus. Mark Cooley, pianist and organist for Des Moines United Methodist Church and Emerald City MCC, will be the pianist and organist for the service.

Participants from many different LGBT organizations and groups will take part in the liturgy. Groups involved include Towards an Inclusive Conversation; Haven, the SPU LGBT student group; and Seattle Mennonite Church. The inclusion of so many different leaders and members of these organizations and churches makes this a truly citywide event.

The Lambert House will be the recipient of this year's offering to be taken up during the worship service. Lambert House works with LGBT youth and young adults. Representatives from Lambert House will speak briefly before the offering. Last year's offering of over $500 went to Queer Youth Space.

The primary organizers for the event are Emerald City Metropolitan Community Church Seattle and All Pilgrims Christian Church. Sponsors include Seattle Gay News, University Christian Church, University Lutheran Church, University Baptist Church, Prospect United Church of Christ, Seattle First Baptist Church, University District Ecumenical Parish, All Pilgrims Christian Church, and Emerald City MCC Seattle.
