Rob Hight, 1966-2011

After a courageous five-month battle with cancer, Rob passed away peacefully at his home in Orlando, Florida. Rob was born and raised in Kokomo, Indiana, where he graduated from Eastern High School and Indiana University. Rob went on to work for American Trans Air and Alaska Airline. He then made a career working with AT&T wireless as a regional quality manager.

Rob was the son of Judith MacLean (Punta Gorda, Florida) and Dale Hight, (Kokomo, Indiana). Rob moved from Seattle, Washington, to Orlando, Florida, in 2009, where he lived with his long-time partner, Jon Parsons.

Rob touched the lives of many people with his generosity, kindness, and incredibly contagious laugh. He maintained his trademark positive attitude all the way to the end.

He will be dearly missed by his closest friend, Steve Froling, along with countless other friends from around the world who were blessed to know him. Rob loved to travel and was a dedicated community volunteer with a passion for raising funds and awareness for grassroots charities in his Seattle and Orlando communities.

Rob will always be remembered by his devoted family, including his mother, Judith (Duncan) MacLean; father, Dale (Sue) Hight; partner, Jon Parsons; grandmothers, Carole Bore and Dorane Burlison; his Aunt Jackie, and numerous family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Cutaneous Oncology Program of Moffitt Cancer Institute of Tampa, Florida. Donations can be made either at the memorial service or by visiting www.moffitt.org/donations.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial celebration on Saturday, April 2 between 5-7 p.m. For details, email sfroling@comcast.net.
