Patrick Young
1963-2011 |
Patrick Young, 48, died March 10 at his home in Seattle, Washington.
Patrick was born on March 1, 1963, in Washington, D.C., to Marion Young Perkins and Elwood Young, Jr.
Patrick moved to Seattle in 1988 after honorably serving in the U.S. Army. He fell in love with the beauty of Washington state and the vitality of its people.
Patrick was a man who could light up any room when he entered it. People were drawn to him because of his engaging and lively personality. He was loved by many. His best times, though, were spending quality time with the people he loved. Patrick truly thought that a walk through the Arboretum, road trip around Washington state, or even a cup of coffee with a close friend were some of his best times. Patrick was a best friend to many and he will truly be missed.
Patrick was an active supporter of Lifelong AIDS Alliance and an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Both of these organizations were a very important part of Patrick's life. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on April 2 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (15 Roy Street in Lower Queen Anne).
Patrick is survived by his mother Marion Young Perkins, sister Valarie Nichols, brothers Wesley and Francis Young, devoted friends Buck Osmer and Steve Andaloro, and many others.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lifelong AIDS Alliance or St. Paul's Church.
