Steamworks robbed

Steamworks was robbed and one of its employees was assaulted on the night of December 1.

Brian Short of Steamworks headquarters in San Francisco told SGN that the incident was highly unusual.

Illinois passes civil unions

Same-sex couples in Illinois will be able to form legally recognized civil unions when Gov. Pat Quinn signs a bill newly passed by the state legislature.

The Illinois Senate voted 32-24 to pass the measure on December 1. The state House passed the bill 61-52 the previous day.
