Peppercorn Bistro holds South Seattle Mixer

South Seattle Mixer
November 8
Peppercorn Bistro & Bar

Peppercorn Bistro & Bar (34029 Hoyt Rd. SW), a new Gay-owned and Gay-managed restaurant in Federal Way, is holding a private LGBT mixer on Monday, November 8, to bring together LGBT people from Seattle, Tacoma, and Federal Way.

According to the mixer's organizer, Ulises Chavez, it's about bridging a gap.

'[I'm holding the event] so we can start having more interaction between the LGBT community in Seattle and down in Federal Way and Tacoma,' Chavez, who lives south of Seattle, told SGN.

Chavez, who works with both Gay People in Seattle (GPIS) and Seattle Out and Proud (SOAP), partnered with the Gaydybunch, an informal LGBT social group, to hold the event and take the first step in creating a more tangible connection between the Gay communities in Seattle and Federal Way/Tacoma.

'It's turned out to be a really great partnership,' said Chavez. 'We're really combining the resources that we have and building that network and relationship.'

Peppercorn is opening their doors on their day off to host the private mixer, in order to meet the LGBT community that surrounds them.

A full bar (non-hosted) and free appetizers will be available, and Chavez is asking that everyone bring their business cards for a raffle. The mixer will run from 6-9 p.m.

'We're really hoping to get a lot of people from Seattle,' Chavez told SGN, 'because we really think this is a great way to network & and start building those friendships.'
