Fun times on All Hallow's Eve

by Rajkhet Dirzhud-Rashid - SGN A&E Writer

As I sit here, doing just about everything to fight what seems to be some general virus trying to get into this lovely body and watching the more interesting folks in costume parade in and out (the guys in bunny and kitten outfits with the girl in a devil costume are my faves so far), I am glad to be me. At least I'm not the grumpy woman in red who was on the bus I rode to the U-District (on my way to be a tarot reader at the new Duque makeup store, Shimmer, only to get there too late 'cause this one was up too late partying with my slave/sweetie/life-partner the night before), who dissed even the children in costume, proclaiming Halloween to be "too much about pagan stuff" and "it's all money, anyway." Pooh on Her Grouchiness, and let's hope something good happens to this unpleasant woman someday, though having seen her in the same state last year, I doubt that's gonna happen anytime soon.

On a happier note, honey bunny and I got new shoes (me: workout shoes for Zumba, her: warm, sensible shoes for our trick-or-treating last weekend), thanks to Ms. Oprah Winfrey doing this special offer with Payless Shoe Source. It was 50% off everything in the store if you had a coupon or a text message (we had neither, but a nice customer did the text for us, got the code and our heroine, the clerk, took it, so we walked out with big smiles and new footwear). Thanks, Oprah, honey, and I forgive you for cutting me off midsentence on your show one time, before I moved to "rat city," when I was on talking about the experience of being Bisexual (before I knew I was really Transgendered, honey). My sister Aquarian, you rock.

So what else has this one been up to besides trick-or-treating with my lovebunny and getting new shoes with same? Well, both of us took a trip to Value Village the night before All Hallow's Eve and picked up some cute fairy wings, then to The Crypt for lube, and a vibrating cock ring, all for a sexy scene in The Digs moments later. Can we say a good time was had by us two? Oh yes, we shall! So loved the folks in costume at both stores, and how nice they were, too. Check both places out for fun items either for spontaneous scenes or just cool stuff to wear out.

Also, this one picked up some zinc throat spray at the Renton (Benson Plaza location) Super Supplements and some elderberry lozenges to chase away this evil little virus that's been causing this one a sore throat lately. Trust me, honey, this stuff works - and fast, too - and it's so much better than that expensive (and hard to come by) flu shot that's being touted as the thing to treat this year's virus. As per The Divine Dr. Que, elderberry's even been tested by the CDC and found to prevent viruses - even H1N1 - from being able to connect with cells, thus working to prevent the flu. Check it out for yourself.

What else has this one tried and loved, babies? Well, while at Super Supplements, this one also picked up the yummiest lip-plumping lip gloss in Wink from MyChelle Pharmaceuticals. It's all-natural, does plump your pout to a delicious, sexy look and isn't bad for the environment, either. Not too pricey, either, and comes in the greatest colors besides the neutral Wink that I bought. And do try Creed's Santal eau de parfum, which is a warm, go-to fragrance for girrls and bois to wear and my new fave. Pick it from Nordstrom, and tell those folks Lipstick and Lust sent ya.

So, that's it for now, honeys. Referendum 71 has been approved, proving sensible-minded folks are the majority and those idiots behind all the scare tactics are the minority. Dow Constantine is our new King County Exec, and though the race for mayor is still too close to call, this one hopes Mike McGinn will be declared the winner. Also hope that wonderful dominatrix cracking a pistachio commercial's back on, and that everyone else is feeling chipper as I'm sure I'll be feeling by the time you read this, as I'm making chanterelle and potato soup when I'm done writing this for me and sweet one. It's an easy recipe, with lots of garlic and onion for your immune system, and who doesn't need that these days, eh?

Stay warm out there, and take hot and cold showers (first hot, then cold, then hot and finish cold) to keep well - this advice from The Divine Dr. Que has kept me from getting really sick, even when it snowed last year. Be kind and tolerant to all, even if they do talk like morons or extra grumps, and smile more; it helps you live longer and happier.

Oh, and be kind to your local psychic, and get a reading and book a holiday party. Your friends won't take this back after Christmas/Kwanzaa/Channukkah/Solstice, believe me, and readings do make thoughtful birthday gifts, honey, trust me. Let's all be nicer to animals and help keep their shelters open with donations and adopt some when you can.

And to those sweet girls at Cowboy Espresso in Renton, a hey and a ho, and thanks for making my day every time I see you, mwhah! Kiss kiss, peace out, buhbye! Oh, and if you want to check out the new makeup store, Shimmer, in Ballard, the address is 5348 Ballard Avenue, near Ella Mon (a lovely clothing store, sweetie, that I plan to get into before the year ends!). Good stuff, nice folks, and good prices, too.
