posted Friday, September 18, 2009 - Volume 37 Issue 38 Stage productions to enjoy this weekendby Rajkhet Dirzhud-Rashid - SGN A&E Writer Leaves are falling and turning those colors I love to emulate with clothing and tights, and there's that chill that tells even the most die-hard "summer's not over yet" fan that, yes, my season is upon us. Don't despair, Bunky; there's also another episode of Seattle's longest-running episodic theatre show, Sex In Seattle, set to burst onto the stage of Hugo House (1634 11th Avenue, off Pine Street) this weekend. This episode finds the five spunky and sexy Asian-American women who have kept fans of SIS captivated for over five seasons since the kickoff show in the mid-'90s, dealing with more relationship issues and life's big questions. Will Kenneth and Elizabeth get back together, or will Elizabeth stay with the Chinese guy she married and then ran away from a couple of episodes ago? Will Jenna pick Adam or will she pick Colin, and will Tess ever find true love outside of her own bed and with a person instead of her sex toy? And what about the vixen of the show? Will she get what she wants, and who will be hurt or not hurt in the process? And, trust me, there are more things going on even than what I've just written. How can you get in on the fun? Why, by showing up for the gala opening of Sex In Seattle: Coming Clean on September 18 and getting the chance to be brought up to speed via fast flashbacks before the newest episode opens. Also, there's always a raffle for fun prizes at the beginning, and lots of laughs to be had watching these lovely ladies and their various entanglements play out over the course of an evening. Still need a reason to go out and enjoy the crisp, almost-fall evenings we're now having (besides imbibing brews at Oktoberfest in Fremont, of course)? Then you could also reconnoiter with some friends at the newest installment of Seattle's other long-running variety show, Pork Filled Players, in their current, funny production, Pork To the Future. This show kicks off on Saturday, the 19, at Odd Duck Studio, (1214 10th Avenue) at 8 p.m. And trust someone who's seen these folks at work; this is hella funny stuff and so worth the ticket price. So grab a date or a bunch of friends and plunk your behind in a chair at Odd Duck Studio (one of Capitol Hill's newest small theatre houses), and sit back to enjoy an evening of shenanigans and timely humor by some of Seattle's best comedy actors.
