American Idol, Sticky & Sweet, Hannah Montana, Asher Roth
by Albert Rodriguez - SGN A&E Writer

The Ting-Tings interview will appear in The Music Lounge in the next few weeks.

American Idol - Adam Lambert
"How much will it cost..."? How much will it cost to see Adam Lambert live in his first Northwest appearance? More than I thought it would. The allegedly Gay runner-up of last season's American Idol is coming to the Tacoma Dome with the other nine finalists of the popular reality show with ticket prices from $40.50 to $69.50. The clan of music hopefuls will give individual and collective performances during a full-length concert, so expect Lambert to give anywhere from a 15- to 25-minute set and then join fellow cast members for duets and/or collaborative numbers. Not that going to this concert is a bad idea, though if you're specifically wanting to see Lambert you'll likely only get a snippet of him. You'll have to be a fan of the entire show to get your money's worth. Lambert was seen earlier this week holding hands with another guy, but has yet to make an official statement about his sexuality (do it already!).

Madonna Sticky & Sweet
Madonna's extensive Sticky & Sweet tour will end on a jew-licious note, as the pop diva announced she'll end the tour September 1 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The tour kicked off August 23, 2008 in Cardiff, Wales and has traveled through North America, Europe, and South America, and will travel back to Europe for another leg before closing out in the Middle East. This is the first time in 16 years the Kabballah queen will perform in the Holy Land, her previous appearance being in 1993 when she delivered "The Girlie Show" tour to her Israeli faithful. Hotshot DJ Paul Oakenfold will open the concert, scheduled to take place at Hayarkon Park - the equipment alone for the grand event will need five airplanes to be transported over. The only Northwest stop for Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" tour was last October at Vancouver's BC Place.

Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus and her pouty-lipped alter ego Hannah Montana are also headed to the Tacoma Dome, as part of a 45-date North American tour launching at Portland's Rose Garden. The tween superstar has cozied up to the Gay community by her recent support of same-sex marriage, publicly Twittering her opposing thoughts on the remarks made by Miss California USA and the breast-exposed Carrie Prejean on the national issue - her support drew sharp criticism from the very conservative American Family Association. Cyrus held her 16th birthday party at Disneyland on the exact evening the theme park hosted "Gay Days" - coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. Tickets for the TV star-turned-pop phenomenon with special guest Metro Station go on sale June 13 (10 a.m.) at all Ticketmaster locations, priced between $39.50 and $79.50. Take your favorite niece!

Lady GaGa
Lady GaGa can add another milestone to her now mega-successful career, gracing the cover of the current Rolling Stone magazine. Interestingly, she interviewed with me last summer here in The Music Lounge long before any of those mainstream New York writers had even listened to any of her singles. I'm proud to say, "I had her first."

Whitney Houston
Whitney Houston finally has her shit together and is staging a comeback for early September with an as-yet-untitled recording already in the works. The album is rumored to feature a duet with R&B sensation Akon. Does this spell upcoming tour? God, I hope so!

Did you fall for that Eminem-Sasha Baron Cohen ass prank on the MTV Movie Awards, too? Staged or not, though, it was hilarious!

Newbie rapper Asher Roth, who can claim Eminem as a big fan, is on his way to White River Amphitheatre next month. The pale-skinned East Coaster will participate in KUBE 93's Summer Jam on July 25, along with Ludacris, Flo Rida, Soulja Boy, Kid Cudi, and Pitbull. Roth is super cute and already has a Gay fan base from non-hetero hip-hoppers, and I'm doing my best to get an interview with him in the coming weeks. Stay glued for more on this rising talent.

Lastly, blues legend Koko Taylor died this week. The Grammy winner was 80. R.I.P., Koko!
