The appendicitis attack that wasn't
by Rajkhet Dirzhud-Rashid - SGN A&E Writer

Ah, my children, as I sit here with normal cramps - not an appendectomy scar - waiting for tomorrow and a visit from my new honey, this one is quite happy. True, peace on earth, and certain terrorists in foreign countries not talking smack about our prez-elect - hey, we're American, Mr. Whacko With the Horrid Beard, and we will bounce back, 'cause that's what we do, 'kay, so kiss my Afro-American butt - would make me truly happy, but hey, one takes what one can get these days. And trust me, this one has been getting into some interesting situations, believe me, maybe because Uranus went direct and my own electric planet is in Leo, a fire sign.

So, the short version of how I ended up in ER at UWMedCenter thinking I was about to get an ugly scar added to my gawgeous self: went in for a routine check of my STD status (the pizza hottie was also not into safety, and this one wasn't exactly smart & it happens, ya know?), doc sent me to ultrasound to check some tummy pain, they sent me to ER, thought I had an inflamed appendix. Several hours later, in the wee hours, I'm told I'm okay, more hours and I'm home with the kitties, starving 'cause I'd only had a mini breakfast that day, and the peanut butter and crackers the nicer nurse (of the many I saw that night two weeks ago) gave me once I knew I didn't have appendicitis. Major drama, but believe me, this year's Thanksgiving feast (with the addition of the Fabulous Daughter's beau) gave me reasons to be ultra thankful.

So, what else happened to this little kitty? Well, this one did get some intensely delish pleasure (before the doctor's visit that turned into the ultrasound from hell) with her new flame, and there are promises of more very soon. We'll tell ya about that next time, dahlings! And, yes, this one is still trying to get together with a certain soldier, if we can figure out our schedules before that one takes leave for the holidays to the West Coast.

Busy times, my little chocolate truffles, busy times! This, and trying to get some tasty items for those on my gift list who've been both naughty and nice. Hey, naughty in my book is even better, so a certain flame will definitely be getting something nice.

So, what has this one tried and loved and wants to recommend highly? First, you must get in to Sally's Beauty Supply (on Third Avenue, near Payless) and pick up some of Palladio's Glitter Eyeliner (I adore the dark blue, which makes my eyes memorable, believe me), and some of the Sally Girl eye shadow (I'm lovin' the "snow" color for highlighting), and to stuff yours or another's stocking, do pick up some Sally Girl Lipgloss, as well as many other yummy treats for special folks on your list. Good prices, too.

Finally, do try Escada's newest fragrance, Ocean Lounge. When I wear this to the gym, even if I'm boxing, I get noticed by everyone. I'm sure I'll have that sparring partner soon, fo' sho'. Pick this wonderfully sexy scent up at Nordstrom, along with some very sweet gift packages on makeup and scents for you and yours.

While you're downtown (you know you're going there, now, don't you?), check out Sephora's many stocking stuffer gifts, most under 50 bucks. I picked up a new eye crayon in the most delectable shade of glittery grey. Just in time for all of those social events yours truly expects to be hitting before January. Also don't forget that the Ballard farmers market is still open for business, and there are tons of unique and one-of-a-kind items for your loved ones that'll make them know you really care. Or you can check out my fave stores near there, Elle Mon, Duque and Damselfly, as well as Home Comforts, all of which have things sparkly, practical and too, too delish for the holidays. Lastly, don't forget to drop some change or bills in your street musician's hat and maybe offer a new hat or pair of gloves to some of the many homeless most try not to notice this time of year. Giving is what the holidays are really about, remember?

Finally, still wishing MyQ 10 would bring back its Feature Flick, and lovin' that commercial with the hot chick dancing to the Ferris Bueller song. Hot, hot, hot! So, that's it for now, my sweet apples, and after putting up the Solstice/Christmas/Hail To My Native Spirits tree, this one will be checking out the ornaments in that store at the corner of 14th and Pine for something new. Be nice to each other, spread love, not violence, understanding and tolerance, not hate, and be mindful of our planet who supports all of us. Buhbye!
