TRAVELING LOCALLY As I get older it's easier to stay at home than to socialize. Years ago I would fly around Seattle like a witch on Halloween trying to steal someone's treats with all the flamboyance I could muster. Weekend nights were like an endless carnival full of mischief and ready to become the emperor of the night trying to share whatever was left with another member of the Gay fraternity.

When AIDS raised its ugly and devastating consequences many of my close friends passes. Luckily I began taking care of myself and almost became an isolate in fear of poor sexual activities. It made me very careful.

Not too long ago I decided to meet an old friend for a drink at a local bar. The place was crowded, noisy, and almost full. We found a small spot to drink our beer. A middle-aged man came up and introduced himself and began talking to me. My friend moved away as not to interfere with our conversation.

Shortly the fellow became a walking advert telling me everything, but the size of his underwear. Within three minutes he had told me more about his body than I wanted to know, cut, uncut, large or small, size of appendage, top or bottom, hairy, smoker or non-smoker, what he liked to do best sexually, and his ability to satisfy a man.

I excused myself and found my partner. We laughingly joked about the situation. What happened made me feel good, but he obviously needed someone. I'm glad it wasn't me.
