by Beau Burriola - SGN Foreign Correspondent

I was tired.

I couldn't sleep. The airplane kept bouncing around, two girls in the row behind me were talking like they'd just met again after 10 years, and the man next to me was folding and refolding his newspaper like a giant origami puzzle. It was after midnight and I seemed to be the only one on the plane trying to get any sleep, so I just closed my eyes and let my thoughts ramble on.

I didn't intend to come back to Seattle so soon. In fact, before I left the U.S. completely, I didn't expect to see it again at all. But then the universe had other plans and, after connecting through JFK, I boarded the trip again for Seattle.

I walked through the airplane gate at 1:00 a.m., the feeling of Seattle wrapping around me like a big hug. Even though I was so happy to leave, it felt amazing to come back. Even if I swore I wouldn't miss it, I felt right in place when I got back.

Now, groggy and waking up this Thursday from a long sleep at a cheap hotel, I'm going to make the most of the two months and 14 days I have here. This summer trip to Seattle is going to be an amazing trip and I intend to remind myself why I fell in love with this city first, starting with a ferry ride this morning.

I haven't yet figured out the living situation, but if by chance anybody on Capitol Hill or downtown has an extra bedroom handy that you could let me use for two months and 14 days, I'd sure like to hear from you.

That, like all details, will work itself out. For now, it's just good to be home.
