| Memorial for Joe Eisenhauer - April 4, 1948-December 15, 1999 |
Joe received his last rites and peacefully left us on December 15, 1999. Fifty-one years is a pretty short lifetime, but he accomplished a lot in those 51 years.
Joe was born in Cleveland and moved with his family to Phoenix, AZ, in his teen years, where he attended the University of Arizona before joining the Coast Guard.
He moved to the Northwest in 1972, where he resided in Mt. Vernon prior to moving to Seattle and making his home with Lenny for his last 15 years or so.
Joe was the founder of the Seattle AIDS Support, now known as the Dunshee House, in 1984, along with Lenny, who founded the Chicken Soup Brigade and Jars in Bars for people living with AIDS. His enormous talent and skills he had in every endeavor are still sorely missed. People living with AIDS were and are being better served today due to his early work.
