REBAR - $20

Musical chanteuse Dina Martina returns to Rebar for an all-new Christmas Show. Over the years, Dina Martina has become synonymous with Christmas, and her performances sell out year after year. Since drifting from her hometown of Seattle, she has become a perennial favorite of cutting-edge heavyweights like John Waters, Margaret Cho, Whoopi Goldberg and The Kids in the Hall's Scott Thompson. Martina is for those of us looking for the UN-traditional, a complete opposite to the clichéd and bland holiday fare. To call this a "drag show" is a crime, it's true performance art!

A typical performance is packed with her own re-worked lyrics to favorite Christmas songs, in addition to well-known pop songs that are brilliantly turned into holiday classics. The costumes are wonderfully horrifying (cameltoe like no other) and more gifts for the audience than should be allowed. During her famous "Gift Parade," you might find yourself the happy owner of Cheetos flavored lip balm, or an autographed photo of Pia Zadora. I once received an autographed photo of Joyce DeWitt&except it was signed by Martina herself. In addition, you can expect the return of her daughter Phoebe (pronounced Fo-ebby) and special home movies from the Martina "archives."

Dina Martina performances often cross the line towards the truly bizarre, like an acid-trip on Christmas. It's always a good idea to arrive early for the best seating. You're bound to run into someone you know there, so relax and have a cocktail while you wait for the diva to take the stage. There is nothing better than taking a friend who has never seen the one and only Martina. And this year there is a merchandise table with all-new Dina Martina posters and 3-D postcards! Check out her website at www.dinamartina.com.

The show runs Thursdays-Sundays through December 16, and then picks up full-steam for a Wednesday through Monday run until December 31. Door opens at 7 p.m., show starts at 8. Tickets available by phone at (206) 325-6500, online at www.ticketwindowonline.com, or in-person (NO SERVICE CHARGE when purchased with cash!) at Broadway Market, Pike Place Market, Pacific Place & Meydenbauer Center.
