| Clinton receives warm reception from Seattle Democrats |
|
Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY), candidate for the Democratic Party presidential nomination, addressed over 1,200 people at Benaroya Hall on Monday, October 22. She was the keynote speaker at the 14th Annual Warren G. Magnuson Awards, an event to recognize Democratic Party volunteers, leaders and elected officials. The Senator did not address Gay issues specifically but instead outlined the priorities of her potential presidency: getting troops out of Iraq, expanding healthcare to uninsured children, ending the ban on embryonic stem cell research and putting the nation on the path to energy independence. It was the first visit to Seattle by Clinton since announcing her presidential campaign.
