Balagan Theatre proudly opens a new season in a new space with a bang! Cloud 9
by Caryl Churchill

We must resist this dark, female lust

Cloud 9 is a sharp weapon in Caryl Churchill's fight against silence and injustice. Targeting gender stereotypes, sexuality, race relations, and prejudices deeply imbedded in our societal norms, this Obie Award winning comedy will hit the audience with playful challenges. Gender, age, and race are cross-cast, while the script's jump across eras begs the question: have the imperialist values of the British Empire truly faded from modern society? In this unabashedly unique comedy, empires will crumble. Homosexuality will be accepted. Women will speak.
