DIFFA raises $100,000 for Seattle HIV/AIDS service organizations by David Luc Nguyen - SGN A&E Writer

DIFFA (Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS) rolled out the red carpet for the 3rd annual Party at the Mansion Saturday. More than 350 guests showed up to the Vintage Playboy themed event staged amidst the Tudor elegance of the Rainier Club in downtown Seattle. The glamorous crowd was a beautiful mix of people, dressed in a sea of satin, sequins, and velvet smoking jackets. Many guests (both male and female!) also came dressed as sexy Playboy bunnies.

Party goers were able to bid on fabulous auction items which included a Cartier "Pasha" Watch, Tiffany & Co. "Atlas" Men's Cufflinks, designer handbags, VIP trips to Europe, the Caribbean and the Kentucky Derby, plus numerous restaurant, hotel, and spa experiences. Hugh Heffner himself would have been proud as the event raised more than $100,000 for local HIV/AIDS service organizations.

After bidding to their hearts content, guests dined on gourmet food, enjoyed a wine tasting room and downed delicious concoctions from the a premium martini bar featuring Bombay Sapphire and 42 Below vodka, plus Bacardi "Limon" mojitos and signature "French Martinis." After loading up on calories many shook their groove things on the dance floor to a retro-themed DJ till 1:30 AM. Those who lacked rhythm were able to hang out in the DIFFA "Love Lounge" which offered a glimpse into the future astrological and tarot readings.

It wouldn't have taken a psychic to foresee what great gifts would be given to the guests as they left the party. This year's swag bag featured an incredible "Visionaire" velvet-covered book of art photography, MAC lip glass, Bumble & Bumble hair care, and Glaceau Vitamin-Energy water.

Party at the Mansion has quickly become one of the marquee events on the Seattle social scene and John Stevens, The Seattle Chapter of DIFFA President contributes the success to "generous sponsorship by Barneys New York, Cartier, W Seattle, & Bombay Sapphire. Also the commitment of event leadership, incredible volunteer energy, the creative talents of the design communities, and an audience base of young, fun patrons who are committed to AIDS philanthropy and having fun!"
