Visiting Mr. Green
Burien Little Theatre
May 18th-June 10th
With Pride around the corner, most of us are focused on events that are going on in Seattle and around Seattle, but there's a play featuring a Gay character you should make time for in Burien. The play, Visiting Mr. Green opened May 18th, and according to star Henry Hart (who has also directed plays for Burien Little Theatre and The Driftwood Players, in Edmonds), is playing sold out shows to rave reviews from the audiences who have been attending.
"The shows have been great, and getting really good responses from our audiences and, last weekend, we had a sold out show on Saturday night," said Hart recently.
The play deals with the friendship that develops between a young, Gay man and an older, straight Jewish man, Mr. Green. The two are brought together when the young man visits Mr. Green, having to serve community service to the older widower, and the first meeting is not a good one. But, according to Hart, things lighten up between the two and valuable life lessons are learned.
" I think people will really like this play and everyone should come and see it," said Hart in a recent informal interview.
The play runs at The Burien Little Theatre (located at 4th Avenue S.W. and SW 146th Street in Burien), Fridays and Saturdays. To find out more about tickets and times, call 206-242-5180. Also, see my review in two weeks.
