Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels is seeking candidates for one position on the Seattle Commission for Sexual Minorities. This member will be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council to serve a two-year term. Members serve without compensation and must reside in Seattle.
The Seattle Commission for Sexual Minorities is a 16 member commission. They advise the Mayor and City Council on issues affecting the LGBT communities and work with the director of the Seattle Office for Civil Rights to end discrimination. The commission holds meetings that are open to the public on the 3rd Thursday of the month.
