2007 Mr. & Ms. Leather Contest winners announced
Gylan Green and Miss Candy sashed

It was a packed house for the 25th Washington State Mr. Leather Contest and 12th Ms. Contest, which was held on March 24 at Seattle's Cuff Complex. The contest was held as part of the 15th Annual Washington State Leather Pride Week, which featured over 60 events throughout the State of Washington -- including the Seattle Erotic Arts Festival, the Cuff's 14th Anniversary Celebration and the Leather Emerald Awards.

Guy Johnson and Gylan Green competed for the Mr. title with Miss Candy competing for the Ms. Title. Another woman entered, but had to withdraw due to an out of state family emergency. The contestants were put through their paces by Head Judge Judy Tallwing-McCarthy (IMsL 1986); Benjaman Palmer (IMrBB 2006); Shelley Denton (American Leatherwoman 2005); Rusty Jones (American Leatherman 2005); Mark Nunley (WA State Mr. Leather 2003); Linda Coomas (Seattle Leatherwoman 1988); and Ronda Vandermeer (Imperial Princess Seattle & Portland).

The Grand Slam MC, Frank Nowicki, returned for his 11th year as emcee. Frank kept the contest moving at a fast pace. The evening's entertainment was provided by The Seattle Men's Chorus' subgroup, Captain Smartypants, which brought the house down with their performance of "Drama Queen." Bo Ladashevska (IML 2006) gave the keynote address citing the 25 year history of the title. The National Washington Leather Emerald Award was given to Judy Tallwing-McCarthy much to her tearful surprise. Randy Fields, Owner of The Cuff, presented a $1000 check to the Scott Rodriguez Scholarship Fund.

Outgoing titleholders Rob Grant and Luying gave brief but moving step-aside speeches. Rob will be representing Washington State at IML 2007. Bo Ladashevska (IML 2006) sashed the 2007 titleholders -- Gylan Green, as Washington State Mr. Leather 2007, and Miss Candy, as Washington State Ms. Leather 2007.

Washington State Mr. & Ms. Leather Organization was the contest producer with Miller Brewing Company and Columbia Distributors being the contest sponsors for their 13th year.
