Lipstick and Lust
Pain in the mouth, down in the mouth about the year's start and so much more in the Lipstick and Lust
by Rajkhet Dirzhud-Rashid - SGN A&E Writer

First, let me say, any year you start kissing and hugging a friend (and we're not talking someone you think of 'that way', if you know what I mean), instead of the one you love, can only either go further downhill or get better. Let's hope that the trend my life has had recently of 'despair, rejection by folks I don't even want and lack of money' won't be continuing into the rest of this year.

And my big resolution this year? Kick out the jams and get out there and have more adventures of the kind that bring me love and more cash. Hopefully, the 'love' part will involve the person I'm currently in love with, but since we didn't speak over the holidays (except for that weird, out of the blue call from Ohio, where sweetie was hanging out with the family, while being on leave from Ft. Lewis), who knows where that will lead. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though.

In the mean time, I did get to try some hot, new items, including my new fave lipstick by Tangee (this brand you have to order from The Vermont Country Store (, and by all means order the 'Majestic Red', as it's the coolest red I"ve ever worn. They also have yummy jams, crumpets and all kinds of things you'd expect at a real 'country store', including the warm pair of cotton tights I wore on New Years Eve night with my Nine West candy red high heels. And do try Benefit's 'High Beam' and 'Moon Beam' highlighting creams for that extra classy glow on brows, cheeks or anywhere else you want to glow. I got mine in the 'Valley of the Stars' kit, for Christmas, with my holiday cash my big bro' gave me, and am loving it, as well as the 'Her Glossiness' lip gloss that came in the same little case. But you can buy larger versions of all of these separately, since the kits are probably all gone by now.

And last, but not least, do try PopBeauty's 'Glitter Stix' le crayon liners. I have the 'choco' and intend of getting their 'aqua' and 'purple' as an early birthday present in the next few weeks. I also will be giving myself some more of that marvelous 'Mineral Veil' powder from Bare Essentials, which makes skin look like an angel kissed you (and might be what gets this one kissed by more than her friends at the next social soiree). So, that's it for this column my little truffle bars, as I'm off to do more working out of the bod, so I'll get noticed in the new year and hopefully get some 'you know what' before cobwebs grow 'down there'. And good news, my dentist is seeing me this week, instead of making The Kid wait until the end of the month, so I won't be in pain that'd make the toughest warrior cry, for my birthday, which is January 26th, fyi. Feel free to gift me with shiny baubles, candles, or wishes for me and my love object to get back to business, and do e-mail me at with thoughts about this column and the new blog (which you can get to by going to the SGN site and clicking on Lipstick and Lust or Googling 'Lipstick and Lust'). For now, off to better the body, and congrats on surviving another year all of my dear readers. Buh bye!
