Seattle PFLAG January support meeting to offer life skills class
Seattle PFLAG January support meeting to offer life skills class
Developing a Queer Life Support System will be the 2007 Seattle monthly support meeting series of the Seattle Chapter of PFLAG beginning this coming Monday night, January 8th at 7:00pm at Seattle First Baptist Church. During this support meeting series, attendees will: write a purpose and/or personal mission statement for their life; develop their framework of goals and objectives towards attaining it; and determine a positive and affirming support system to live it.

Each support meeting is held at SFBC on the second Monday of the month. The church's address is 1111 Harvard Avenue (at the southwest corner of the Union/Seneca Street intersection). The location is on the city's First Hill just northwest of the Seattle University campus.

PFLAG supports the Gay, Lesbian, Transgender and Queer community, celebrating families, teaching tolerance and advocating justice. All parents, family members, friends and LGBTIQQ individuals are welcome to attend--as long as they are willing to accept responsibility for meeting confidentiality at the end of the chapter support meeting(s). Those persons attending who request 1:1 support, will be given respectful guidance specific to their need.

Please mark your calendars now for the three upcoming chapter support meetings: Des Moines-January 22 (fourth Monday); Renton-February 7 (first Wednesday); and February 12-Seattle. The Seattle Chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays is for the entire LGBTIQQ community. The chapter's three monthly support meetings serve to fulfill PFLAG National's mission of providing support, advocacy and education for and to the friends and families of LGBTIQQ individuals in the City of Seattle and in metropolitan South King County. The Bellevue/Eastside Chapter hosts its support meeting on the third Thursday of each month. A PFLAG Support Meeting can be found throughout the Greater Puget Sound area in every week of the month: Olympia - second Sunday; Skagit/Mt.Vernon-second Monday; Everett and Bremerton Chapters - third Monday; and Tacoma Chapter - fourth Thursday. There are support meetings in Bonney Lake, Bellingham, Friday Harbor and Port Angeles/Sequim as well. Twenty-three (23) PFLAG chapters offer support meetings at geographic locations throughout the state. You are loved by PFLAG!

If you need further support, please call the PFLAG Help-Line at (206) 325-7724 or visit our chapter's web-site at www.Seattle-PFLAG.org. For more comprehensive information, please visit the PFLAG-National office web-site at www.PFLAG.org.
