Ingersoll Gender Center throws holiday bash, fundraiser
Ingersoll Gender Center presents SnowBall, a sparkling evening of music, dinner, dancing and auction all in an Ice Palace fit for a Queen, King& or otherwise on Saturday, December 9th!

SnowBall is a celebration of the blizzard of Transgender, gender variant and genderqueer people for the whole TLGB communities! This is an event that is for all of our communities where the Trans community is forefront. Come have a great time and invite all of your friends and family.

Snowball will be hosted by Marsha Botzer, nationally recognized LGBT rights pioneer and founder of Ingersoll Gender Center with special guest Jamison Green, Trans advocate, educator and author of "The Visible Man" and dozens of other books and articles. Also in attendance will be Russell Roybal, Director of Movement Building at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.

The Glamorous Aleksa Manila, Empress Olympia XXXV will be our fabulous emcee for the evening. The newly crowned Miss Gay Seattle, Regina King will be a special guest and will appear with Mr. Gay Seattle, Dynasty.

Though Ingersoll has traditionally produced a winter event, Snowball 2006 is the first major event produced by Ingersoll Gender Center since merging with the Seattle LGBT Center and is a step up from past years with a special emphasis on outreach into all parts of our communities.

Doors open at 6:30 and the party runs till 11:00 with music and dancing with DJ Valentine.

Snowball will be held at the Swedish Cultural Center 1920 Dexter Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98109 on Queen Anne Hill.

Ingersoll Gender Center is a non-profit service agency, founded in 1977 by Marsha Botzer. Ingersoll has therapists working under contract, each of whom has extensive experience in the field of gender identity counseling and related fields. Ingersoll Center is able to offer a full range of services to gender dysphoric clients such as referrals to therapists, support and peer counseling pertaining to issues of daily living, changes in lifestyle, preparation for surgery, and post-operative care. They also offer support groups in a friendly, low-stress setting where cross dressing is encouraged, but never required. Their mission is to support Transgendered people towards growth and well- being. They do this by providing support, education, advocacy and information resources for people interested in gender identity issues, and for service providers, employers, families and friends in order to promote understanding, awareness and acceptance of gender diversity. Rather than the organization dissolve in the face of decreasing resources, they legally merged with The Center this past July. By combining resources, both organizations now serve even more in our LGBTQ communities.

The Seattle LGBT Community Center is located at 1115 E Pike Street. For information on events and how to support The Center, call (206) 323-LGBT or visit SeattleLGBT.org.
