Trousers terrorize the Eastside! - Captain Smartypants returns to Kirkland Performance Center
Captain Smartypants - Trousers of Terror October 21, 8:00pm

Kirkland Performance Center (350 Kirkland Avenue, Kirkland)
Tickets: (425) 893-9900 or visit www.kpcenter.org.

A prom queen swings an axe&Jason accessorizes his hockey mask&Zombies do a dainty minuet&Drama queens go berserk&Captain Smartypants goes mad! Trousers of Terror comes to the Kirkland Performance Center for one night only, Ocotber 21, just in time for Halloween.

Using their unique blend of song, sketch comedy, costumes and choreography, Captain Smartypants takes on the horror film genre and turns it on its head. "There are few things more theatrical than horror movies," ssaid Eric Lane Barnes, founder and director of the group. "The schlock value in Trousers of Terror is all over the map. Our intention is to make people gasp, mostly with laughter&Mostly."

The first half of the show is a smorgasbord of musical styles and comedy targets. The second half is a mini-musical: The tale of Linda, a cheery blonde with a deadly determination to realize her dream as prom queen. Nothing will keep her from her crown. Not even & the grave.

There are a few serious songs as well, including the brand-new My Evil Twin. "It's about that dark place we all have and the terrible things we seem to be powerless over doing," said Barnes. "It's kind of like Desperado, but written by Edgar Allan Poe."

This multimedia event was first presented at Seattle's Re-bar in June, and sold out its two-weekend run. Some adult themes. Not recommended for children under 12, or persons of a sensitive nature.

This performance made possible in part by our Artist Sponsors: Gary & Linda Henderson, Kristin Olson.
