Center for LGBT Health to hold grand opening |
Gay City Health Project and Verbena Health to host Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of new Center for LGBT Health at 511 E. Pike on Friday, April 21st, 2006.
The Seattle community is invited to join Gay City and Verbena to celebrate a new milestone in LGBT Health services. After more than a year of planning, filing, sweat and plenty of dust, the Center for LGBT Health has opened its doors. The purpose of the new health center is an effort to continue the community based testing and health services pioneered by both organizations. Gay City offers free and anonymous HIV and STD testing and counseling for Gay and bi men (including those who are Transgender), with increased service capacity in the new space. Gay City's other health and community building programs for Gay and bi men continue, as well. Verbena's health programming for Lesbians, Bisexual and Queer women, and Transgender individuals will also be able to expand in the new space.
Verbena and Gay City would like to invite everyone in celebrating the opening of the Center for LGBT Health on Friday, April 21st from 6 to 9 PM to usher in this historic event in Seattle history. The evening will include a conversation with Rep. Ed Murray, Rep. Joe McDermott, Seattle City Council Member Sally Clark, Gay City Executive Director, Fred Swanson, former Verbena Executive Director, Mary, new Verbena Executive Director Mo Malkin and tours of the new space.
Gay City Health Project is an innovative Gay men's health organization based in Seattle, and the premiere HIV and STD testing provider for Gay and Bisexual men in King County. This year marks its tenth year of building a healthy Gay community. For more information, visit www.Gaycity.org.
Verbena builds vibrant communities for Lesbians, Bisexual & Queer women, and Transgender individuals through health advocacy, education, support & access to care. For more information, visit www.verbenahealth.org.
